Nevadans Will Soon be Able to Play Powerball

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevada residents who pine to play the lottery will soon be able to buy Powerball tickets.

The Primm Valley Lotto Store just over the California border announced Wednesday that it would begin selling tickets for the multi-state lottery game on April 8 of next year.

Primm is 40 miles southwest of Las Vegas. In the past, it didn't carry Powerball tickets.

The parking at the Lotto Store regularly fills up with Nevada license plates when other big jackpots come around.

A store off U.S. Highway 93 in Arizona, about 50 miles from downtown Las Vegas, also sells Powerball tickets.

Nevada is one of a handful of states that prohibit lotteries.
