HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Police say a 24-year-old English teacher from Henderson told them she knew it was wrong to date her teenage student, but did it anyway because she loved the boy.
Foothill High School teacher Amanda Brennan was arrested Friday on suspicion of luring a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She wasn't listed on jail rolls Tuesday.
Police say the boy's parents were tipped off to the romance when Brennan picked up the teen at his gated community Wednesday against their wishes.
Police say they interviewed the boy about the relationship on Friday. An arrest report says he told police he loved Brennan, and that they had kissed twice.
Authorities say they also found 1,000 text messages between the boy and Brennan's number during a nine-day period.
