Nevada Judge Mulling Sanctions in Vegas Sands Case

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Nevada judge cited what she called "serious violations of duties of candor" by Las Vegas Sands Corp. lawyers, and said she'll rule next week on fines against attorneys and possibly the casino company itself.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports ( ) that Clark County District Judge Elizabeth Gonzalez finished a three-day sanctions hearing on Wednesday faulting Sands and Sands Macau LTD lawyers for failure to disclose documents to opposing attorneys representing a fired former Macau casino executive in a civil breach of contract lawsuit.

The judge says she's upset that lawyers for Sands Macau LTD and for its parent company failed to disclose last year to her and to Jacobs' legal team documents they were seeking in the case had been brought to Las Vegas from the Chinese enclave.
