LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Nevada judge is due before a disciplinary panel on charges that she kept such irregular court hours during a 2010 trial that she should be sanctioned.

Clark County District Court Judge Valorie Vega is asking the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline to skip an evidence hearing scheduled Monday in Las Vegas, and to go ahead and issue a public reprimand for alleged discourtesy to jurors, lawyers and court officials.

The seven-member commission could reject the request and begin a public airing of accusations that Vega violated judicial rules by keeping jurors deliberating all night on a verdict because she was going on vacation the next day.

Vega also is accused of recessing proceedings early six times during the trial to attend her daughter's high school soccer games.
