LAS VEGAS (AP) - After talking, planning and collecting iconic Las Vegas signs since 1996, the Neon Museum is getting ready to flip the switch.

The 2-acre resting place for more than 150 brightly lighted signs is expected to open to the public Oct. 27.

First, the lobby of the moved and restored La Concha motel is being reshaped into a visitor center and shop.

The La Concha's distinctive clamshell shape, dates to 1961. It stood next to the Riviera hotel-casino before it was moved to the site known for years as the Neon Boneyard.

Board chairman William Marion tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal (http://bit.ly/NC6ked ) the museum is a unique way to show people the 'Old Vegas' experience.

Tickets will be $18 for adults and $12 for seniors, students, local residents and veterans.
