LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a suspect in the shooting of a man who crashed a black Jeep into several vehicles at a southeast Las Vegas freeway off-ramp has been found dead, and the homicide case is closed.
Las Vegas police said Thursday that 27-year-old Joseph Lucero's body was found early Wednesday at an apartment east of the Las Vegas Strip.
No other information about his death was made public.
The Clark County coroner says it'll take several weeks for toxicology results and a determination of how Lucero died.
Police say Lucero had been sought in the March 13 killing of 23-year-old Zachary Wayne Girdner.
Authorities say Girdner was shot multiple times at a South Las Vegas Boulevard apartment before driving and crashing the Jeep at the 215 Beltway exit at Eastern Avenue.
