LAS VEGAS (AP) - A former Las Vegas process server has been sentenced to death for sexually assaulting and killing a young mother in January 2010 and then killing a 64-year-old man in a robbery a few days later.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports a jury ruled Friday on the sentence for 41-year-old convicted murderer Gregory Hover.
Police say Hover and a younger accomplice kidnapped 21-year-old Prisma Contreras as she was leaving work at Hooters Hotel and Casino. Authorities say he assaulted and stabbed the woman, whose body was found the next day in a burned-out Jeep near Boulder City.
Officials say Hover also shot Julio and Roberta Romero during a robbery 10 days later at their Las Vegas home. The man died of his injuries, while the woman was critically injured.
