LAS VEGAS (AP) - A man struck and killed by a train northeast of Las Vegas has been identified as 21-year-old Nathan Harvey.
The Clark County coroner's office released the man's identify on Monday.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Harvey was struck by a freight train early Dec. 18. The train was headed east from Los Angeles to Illinois.
Union Pacific says freight trains typically take more than a mile to stop, making it difficult to avoid a collision.
The train crew was relieved from duty and placed into a counseling program.
