LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 62-year-old ex-convict accused in two Las Vegas cold case slayings dating from 1978 and 1994 is hinting that there's more to his case than police allegations that he's a serial killer.

Nathaniel Burkett's closed-circuit jailhouse video interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal (http://bit.ly/MCFvGo ) was cut short Wednesday by technical glitches and a defense lawyer.

But first he said some unspecified things "need to come out."

Burkett arrived in Las Vegas on Monday following his arrest last month in Picayune, Miss.

He's due in court Friday on murder charges in the separate rape-strangulations of 22-year-old Barbara Ann Cox in April 1978 and 27-year-old Tina Gayle Mitchell in February 1994. Both bodies were found in a neighborhood northwest of downtown Las Vegas

Police say DNA evidence links Burkett to both crimes.
