LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities in Las Vegas have identified a 54-year-old man who died in a crash after knocking down a woman who had just left his vehicle.
Clark County coroner's officials say Mark Douglass was killed after his Lexus sedan struck a curb and two street light poles about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police say the Lexus was on Cheyenne Avenue and stopped at Michael Way, where a 53-year-old woman got out. Police say the woman was standing near the driver's door when the Lexus sped off and knocked her to the ground.
The vehicle then crossed over a median and crashed.
Douglass was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the woman suffered minor injuries.
