BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) - Officials say a man was killed after his motorcycle crashed near Lake Mead.
The National Park Service says the crash was reported just before 8 a.m. Sunday near Northshore Road.
Authorities say park rangers responded and found the man about 40 feet off the road.
Rescue workers were unable to save the man's life and he was pronounced dead around 9 a.m.
The man's identity has not yet been released.
Park rangers and the Nevada Highway Patrol are investigating the accident and say speed may have been a factor.
The northbound and southbound lanes of Northshore Road were temporarily closed after the crash but had been reopened Sunday afternoon.
