LAS VEGAS (AP) - Three officers are on leave as authorities investigate an officer-involved shooting that left a man dead in Las Vegas.
Police say they responded to calls about 3 p.m. Monday that a person had been shot outside a Ross store on Desert Inn Road.
Officers say they found a man with a gunshot wound to his hand, who said a stranger had shot him. The victim was taken to the hospital.
Police say they found a man who matched the suspect description, but he didn't obey their commands and instead pulled a gun from his waistband.
Officers shot the man, who was pronounced dead on the scene. No police were hurt.
The officers involved in the incident and the man who died haven't yet been identified. The shooting is under investigation.
