LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a suspect was in critical condition after exchanging gunfire with Las Vegas police over the weekend.
Police say they'd been investigating a suspicious parked vehicle on Sunrise Avenue about 4 a.m. Sunday when officers recognized one of the people inside as a suspect in a robbery and shooting last month.
Police say the vehicle fled the scene, and a male and female suspect later fled on foot in different directions.
Officials say that the male suspect fired a handgun as officers closed in. Police say an officer fired back and hit the suspect, who was taken to a hospital.
The female suspect was caught shortly after.
No police were injured in the incident.
