HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - A 24-year-old Henderson man is accused of slashing the tires of 32 cars inside his own gated community over the weekend.

Police say they arrested Andrew Ayala Saturday on suspicion of felony destruction of property. He was being held on $50,000 bail.

Authorities say they were called to the Grand Legacy neighborhood near Wigwam Parkway and Valle Verde Drive about 2 a.m. Saturday.

Officers say they found 32 vehicles were vandalized, including some that had three or four tires slashed. Police say some tires had blood on them after the suspect apparently injured himself.

Police say surveillance footage and a witness account helped connect them with Ayala, who had a cut on his hand and later said he used a five-inch blade on the tires.

Ayala didn't offer a motive.
