LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police have arrested a 29-year-old Las Vegas man on child sex assault charges, saying he may have volunteered as a Bible study leader to get access to potential victims.
Las Vegas police say David L. James was arrested in January on multiple child sexual assault charges. He was later rebooked when Henderson police detectives say they learned of other, similar allegations.
Police say they believe James offered to lead Bible studies for several different religious organizations as a way to contact children.
Clark County records show he remains in jail on 10 counts of sexual assault of a victim under 14, 10 counts of lewdness with a minor under 14, and two counts of sexual assault on a victim under 16.
Detectives are seeking information about other potential victims.
