NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - North Las Vegas police have arrested a 21-year-old man who they say was driving drunk and more than 30 miles over the speed limit on Halloween when he crashed into a car and killed a teen mom.
Authorities say they arrested Leonard Novell Walker II on Thursday, two weeks after the deadly crash on Ann Road and Coleman Street. He was booked on charges of DUI and reckless driving and remains in jail on $200,000 bail.
Police say Walker hit a car that was heading home from a Halloween party. The crash killed 17-year-old Savannah McInnis and injured her 2-year-old son, and sent a couple in their 70s to the hospital.
The 74-year-old man remains in the hospital in critical condition, while the 72-year-old woman has been released.
