LAS VEGAS (AP) - A big crowd is lining a downtown Las Vegas boulevard for the 31st annual Martin Luther King Jr. parade.
Organizers of the Monday parade expect about 140 entries and more than 18,000 parade viewers on a nine-block stretch of Fourth Street between Hoover and Ogden avenues.
Parade marshals are Zion Independent Methodist Church founder and Rev. Marion Bennett, and Lillian McMorris.
McMorris hosts the KVVU-TV Fox 5 public affairs show "A.M. Southern Nevada."
Bennett is a former Nevada state Assembly member who served three terms as president of the Las Vegas chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
An MLK Dream Fest follows the parade, featuring cultural vendors, food booths, a car show and entertainment in the historic West Las Vegas neighborhood.
