CARSON CITY, Nev. -- If you are not registered to vote, you have until 11:59pm tonight (Saturday) to register online or by mail. Today the Secretary of State's office announced the online registration deadline will return to its original 11:59 time.
Friday, Secretary of State Ross Miller had indicated that the deadline was moved up to 7:59 for mandatory maintenance of the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) system. That issue has since been resolved, and the deadline returned to just before midnight.
On his office's website, Miller recognized work the DMV and information technology crews put in. “I sincerely thank the DMV, Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS), and our Secretary of State team for working tirelessly and relentlessly throughout the weekend to make sure all Nevadans have the opportunity to register to vote,” he said. “Nevadans now have until 11:59 p.m. to register to vote or update their profile, but they should not procrastinate.”
The website to register is www.registertovotenv.com. Saturday is also the deadline for mail-in voter registration.
If you miss the deadline, you can still register in person at your county clerk or registrar of voters’ until October 16.
