LAS VEGAS (AP) - A man is recovering after being shot by a Las Vegas police officer during a domestic violence situation.
Police say they got a call about 10:30 p.m. Sunday from a woman who said her ex-boyfriend had beaten her and damaged her vehicle.
Authorities say they found the woman inside her car in the parking lot of Hollywood Park. They say the ex-boyfriend was sitting in the passenger seat.
Police say an officer removed the woman from the vehicle, then shot the man in the leg while speaking to him.
Officials say the man was taken to University Medical Center with injuries that don't appear to be life-threatening.
The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on leave while authorities investigate the incident.
