Las Vegas Man Convicted in Friend's Shooting Death

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas man has been convicted of first-degree murder and other charges in the shooting death of a friend earlier this year.

A Clark County District Court jury found 43-year-old Patrick Wilcock guilty Friday after a two-week trial and three hours of deliberation.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports he faces up to life in prison without parole on the murder charge when he's sentenced Feb. 21.

Wilcock was accused of shooting James Lacella in the head and days later of setting fire to his Las Vegas condo to cover up the crime. Lacella's body was found Feb. 25 after the fire.

Police say Wilcock pawned several items that were stolen from Lacella's home, and keys to Lacella's truck were found in a trash can at Wilcock's home.
