LAS VEGAS (AP) - A veteran Nevada judge in Las Vegas has been
hit with state disciplinary charges that she mishandled the
December 2010 retrial of a man who was acquitted of killing a
Clark County District Court Judge Valerie Vega is accused in a
Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline complaint made public
Friday. It alleges she violated judicial rules by keeping jurors
deliberating all night to almost 7 a.m. to accommodate her personal

during the trial so that she could attend her daughter's high
school soccer games.
Vega released a statement Friday citing "some procedural
irregularities" in the case, but saying the allegations lack
