LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police and fire officials in Las Vegas are ruling a blaze that killed a young boy and injured his older brother in a vacant home an accident.
Police Officer Larry Hadfield said Friday that no criminal charges will be filed.
Las Vegas fire spokesman Tim Szymanski (zim-ANN'-skee) says investigators determined several boys had been igniting fireworks at the house about 2 miles east of downtown before the fire was reported about 4:20 p.m. Thursday in a work shed off a carport.
Szymanski says the older boy is about 10. He was outside when firefighters arrived, with burns from his clothing and hair catching fire.
The body of the younger boy, believed to be 7 or 8, was found after firefighters quelled flames and got inside.
