LAS VEGAS (AP) - Clark County officials say a vacant house that was heavily damaged in a fire just before the new year was completely destroyed when it burned a second time.
Crews say they responded about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to a house fire on the corner of Valley Drive and Melody Lane.
Firefighters say the house was in an older neighborhood with small fire hydrants that aren't as powerful as newer ones, so they had to lay long stretches of hose to get enough water on the fire.
Investigators say the house had previously burned on Dec. 30, but was finished off by Wednesday's blaze.
Police detained three people who were seen running from the area, and are investigating whether they're connected to the fire.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
