LAS VEGAS (AP) - Casino mogul Sheldon Adelson is squaring off with Hong Kong businessman Richard Suen (soo-en) in Las Vegas for the second time.
Suen says he's owed $328 million for helping Las Vegas Sands Corp. win a gambling license in the Chinese enclave of Macau.
The case turns on whether meetings Suen set up between Sands executives and Beijing officials allowed the company to win a license.
Suen says he helped Sands build relationships with the Chinese government and should be compensated.
Sands attorneys say Suen didn't help company executives. Sands argues it was officials in Macau, not Beijing, that decided which companies to license.
A jury decided in Suen's favor in 2008, but the Nevada Supreme Court overturned the judgment two years later.
Opening arguments in the retrial begin Wednesday.
