HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Homicide detectives in Henderson are investigating the apparent slaying of a man found dead in a desert homeless encampment.
Henderson police spokesman Keith Paul says the man was found with apparent fatal injuries about 6 p.m. Tuesday in a desert area near Lake Mead Parkway and Warm Springs Road.
The man was believed to be in his 30s.
He wasn't immediately identified, and authorities didn't describe his injuries.
Clark County coroner's investigators were looking for family members, and a medical examiner was conducting an autopsy Wednesday to determine the cause of death.
Paul says the case was being handled as the second slaying in Henderson this year.
