LAS VEGAS (AP) - Metro Police say a hiker alerted them to an
illegal marijuana growing operation in Clark County canyon and that
officers found 11,000 plants.
KLAS-TV reports that the plants had a street value of $16.5 million. Police say it's one of the largest marijuana growing operations they've discovered in Clark County.
The hiker led police to the plants Wednesday. Police say they found four separate plots located at about 8,400 feet in the Wallace Canyon.
The officers destroyed the plants.
