HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - A new police chief is on the job in
Patrick Moers was sworn in at a Henderson City Council meeting
Tuesday. The 48-year-old has been with the department for more than
20 years and most recently served as deputy chief.
Moers has been filling in the top post since Jutta Chambers retired earlier this year, after video surfaced showing Henderson police officers kicking a man in the head during an October 2010 traffic stop.
Moers is the 12th chief since the city was incorporated in 1953.
The department includes 390 police officers, 83 correction officers
and more than 160 civilian employees.
