LAS VEGAS (AP) - A prosecutor showed jurors a video of what he
called an unprovoked attack by Hells Angels bludgeoning rival
Mongols motorcycle club members at a downtown Las Vegas wedding chapel.
But defense attorney Tom Pitaro countered Monday that the Hells
Angels Sin City chapter members were there for a wedding, not a
Pitaro represents one of eight men standing trial. He cast the
brawl as self-defense.
Authorities say two people were stabbed and at last four others
were hurt in the December 2008 melee.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that security was tight during opening statements in Clark County District Court. Trial is expected to take several weeks.
The eight men are among 13 people facing decades in prison on
charges including attempted murder and criminal gang activity.
