LAS VEGAS (AP) - Rangers who say they're expecting half a
million visitors at Lake Mead in the 10 days on and around the
Fourth of July are urging visitors to keep the park clean.
Rangers are asking guests not to bring Styrofoam, glass
containers or fireworks. They also say it's important to pick up
Chief Ranger Mary Hinson says the park staff's top priority is
preventing drownings. She recommends all swimmers wear a life
jacket approved by the U.S. Coast Guard.
