LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Clark County commissioner has paid more than $2,000 in fines for shooting a gun in his yard and for a bull that got loose.

Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins pleaded no contest in municipal court Thursday to disturbing the peace and having livestock at large.

Neighbors of Collins say he fired a gun at least seven times at a tree and a wooden post on his property July 3. Last weekend, a bull owned by Collins got loose in Collins' North Las Vegas neighborhood.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Collins paid $2,274 in fines. He also forfeited a handgun.

A judge dismissed a third charge of unlawfully discharging a firearm within the city limits.
