Governor's Warrant Demanded in Strip Shooting

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A Los Angeles judge has formally identified a 26-year-old man as the suspect wanted in a Las Vegas Strip shooting and chain-reaction car crash that killed three people last month.

However, suspect Ammar Harris refused to waive extradition Thursday. His public defender asked that authorities produce a governor's warrant, and Superior Court Judge Shelly Torrealba scheduled a status hearing for April 12.

Officials have 90 days to secure the warrant.

Harris was arrested in Los Angeles after a weeklong manhunt that began following the Feb. 21 shooting and crash that also injured five people.

Authorities allege Harris fired from his vehicle into another car driven by a man he had argued with minutes earlier in a casino valet area. A resulting collision caused a taxi to explode.
