LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have identified a 6-year-old girl who died after being run over while trying to get into her grandpa's car in southwest Las Vegas.
Clark County coroner's officials say Censere Mosly-Wedemyer died after the accident that happened just after 3 p.m. Tuesday on Torino Avenue, west of Riley Street.
Authorities say the girl was standing just behind a Dodge Magnum when it started to drive away.
Police say the child tried to get into the vehicle without the driver knowing, and was dragged for about 40 feet until the vehicle stopped. Police tell KVVU-TV the 52-year-old man is the girl's grandfather.
The girl was taken to University Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Police say this is the 35th traffic-related death this year in Las Vegas police jurisdiction.
