LAS VEGAS (AP) - The former police officer boyfriend of a construction defects attorney who died in her bathtub in March took a plea deal in a separate case alleging he plotted with the woman to stage her own death in October 2010.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the Tuesday plea by 43-year-old William Ronald Webb Jr. closes the book on a complicated scheme that occurred while lawyer Nancy Quon was a target in a sweeping federal probe of southern Nevada homeowner association fraud.
Quon wasn't charged at the time in the federal investigation.
Webb pleaded guilty to two felony drug charges, and the equivalent of no contest to insurance fraud stemming from an October 2010 fire at Quon's home.
Webb faces up to six years in prison at sentencing Feb. 7.
