LAS VEGAS, NV (AP) - Fire damages 6 homes in Las Vegas neighborhood.
Authorities say a fire fanned by gusty winds damaged six homes as it raged through a neighborhood on Las Vegas' east side.
Las Vegas Fire Department spokesman Tim Szymanski says four people suffered minor injuries in the blaze late Sunday afternoon.
He says the bulk of the fire was at a house on Virgil Street but spread to five other homes as well as trees and utility poles.
Firefighters quickly brought blaze under control but not before it damaged the six residences, some heavily. The total loss is estimated at half million dollars.
The injuries included breathing problems and chest pains, but just one person was treated at a hospital. One cat died in the fire.
Szymanski says the cause of the blaze and number of people displaced still haven't been determined.
