LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 56-year-old former storefront church pastor is due for arraignment on charges that he sexually assaulted young girls under the guise of counseling in his Las Vegas-area congregation.
Ex-United Faith Church leader Otis Holland is due in court Monday. He faces one lewdness with a child under 14 and eight felony child sex charges that could mean prison for the rest of his life if he is convicted.
A special prosecutor, attorney Robert Langford, is handling the case because Holland was represented by District Attorney Steve Wolfson before Wolfson became DA.
Holland is accused of fleeing the U.S. after Henderson police arrested him in December 2010 and January 2011 on allegations that he abused girls as young as 7.
He was arrested in January 2012 in Tijuana, Mexico.
