LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a man once honored for his work as a foster parent has agreed to surrender in North Las Vegas court amid charges that he sexually abused at least one teenager in his care.
Sgt. Tim Bedwell said Thursday that 37-year-old Marvie Hill arranged through his lawyer to appear Friday before a judge on a warrant accusing him of 19 counts of lewdness and one child abuse charge.
Hill is expected to be freed on $40,000 bond.
Police say a 19-year-old told detectives he was abused in 2008 when he was 15 and in Hill's custody.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that a local nonprofit children's advocacy group recognized Hill in 2005 as an outstanding foster parent.
Hill's foster parenting license has been revoked.
