NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - North Las Vegas police say a Utah teenager accused of being behind the wheel of a car that hit eight pedestrians outside a storefront church doesn't have a driver's license.
Sgt. Tim Bedwell says Nyakueth Tear told police she'd been in Las Vegas for about a week, sleeping in the Mitsubishi Galant involved in the 11 p.m. Thursday crash outside the Iglesia de Cristo church on Losee Road.
Tear had a Utah identification card, but hasn't said where exactly she's from.
A 54-year-old man remains hospitalized in critical condition after the crash.
A pregnant woman and six other people were treated at a hospital and released.
Tear is jailed on multiple charges including felony hit-and-run.
She was arrested after crashing at a nearby construction site.
