Driver, Pedestrian Critical in Separate Accidents

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A pedestrian and a driver are in critical condition following separate traffic accidents in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Metro Police say a 22-year-old Las Vegas driver lost control of a vehicle early Sunday and slide sideways into a power box for a set of traffic lights.

The accident happened on Buffalo Drive in the northwest quadrant of Las Vegas.

The motorist wasn't immediately identified.

In the separate accident, a 78-year-old man was is in critical condition after being hit by a car late Saturday.

The pedestrian was trying to cross Spring Mountain Road outside a marked crossway.

The National Weather Service lifted a dense fog advisory early Sunday.
