LAS VEGAS (AP) - A former physician-owner of a Las Vegas clinic and two former employees pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder charges in the death of a man whose incurable hepatitis C was traced to an outpatient procedure nearly five years ago.

A Clark County District Court spokeswoman says Dipak Desai pleaded not guilty Wednesday in the April 27 death of 77-year-old Rodolfo Meana.

Former clinic nurse-anesthetists Ronald Lakeman and Keith Mathahs also pleaded not guilty.

Judge Stefany Miley says she'll set a trial date Sept. 19.

Meana was one of seven patients who prosecutors allege were infected during clinic outpatient procedures in 2007.

Desai, Lakeman and Mathahs already face trial in October in a separate indictment handed up June 2010 accusing them of felony charges including racketeering and criminal neglect.
