LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Nevada judge says lawyers defending a former Cirque du Soleil dancer accused of killing his ex-girlfriend can't depict her at trial as a woman with a violent history.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Nevada state law bans vilifying a victim.
Clark County District Court Judge Kathleen Delaney ruled this week that Jason Omar Griffith's lawyers can't tell jurors that 31-year-old "Fantasy" dancer Debora Flores Narvaez stalked and harassed other ex-boyfriends before she died in December 2010.
Flores Narvaez's dismembered body was later found in concrete-filled containers in an empty Las Vegas home.
Delaney on Wednesday set Griffith's trial for next July. He has pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges that could get him up to life in prison.
Griffith was arrested in January 2011.
