LAUGHLIN, Nev. (AP) - Fire officials say residents escaped unharmed from an intense fire that caused an estimated $1.4 million in damage overnight at a large home in Laughlin.
Clark County fire Batallion Chief Greg Cassell says a four-car garage was fully ablaze when firefighters arrived a little before 12:30 a.m. Friday at the home on a 2-acre property on West Casino Drive.
That's south and west of the main resort corridor in the Colorado River resort city.
Cassell says occupants awoke to find heavy smoke outside their bedroom, but managed to get outside the two-story, 5,500-square-foot home.
Firefighters from nearby Bullhead City and Fort Mojave in Arizona were summoned by mutual aid to help quell flames.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
Laughlin is 100 miles south of Las Vegas.
