LAS VEGAS (AP) - The district attorney in Las Vegas is clearing a deputy U.S. marshal in the death of an armed ex-felon from Arizona who was shot and killed after a car chase and foot pursuit in September.

Neither Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson nor U.S. Marshal Christopher Hoye III would identify the marshal. He was a member of a multi-jurisdictional unit called the Nevada Fugitive Investigative Task Force.

Hoye cites departmental policy.

Wolfson says he determined that 27-year-old Thomas Lars Domagala ignored commands to drop a handgun before he was shot and killed near a gas station construction site at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue.

Domagala had been tracked to the Las Vegas area after several Arizona burglaries, including an attack that nearly killed an elderly man in Tucson.
