LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Nevada Highway Patrol is reopening a busy stretch of Interstate 15 south of Las Vegas after investigating a two-vehicle crash that injured two people.
Trooper Loy Hixson says the drivers of a sedan and a commercial truck were taken to University Medical Center after the truck slammed into a slow or stopped car about 4 a.m. Friday on I-15 southbound near Blue Diamond Road.
Hixson says the driver of the car received critical injuries, while injuries to the truck driver weren't believed to be life-threatening.
Investigators don't know why the driver of the car slowed or stopped in one of the travel lanes before his car was rear-ended.
Two lanes of the freeway were closed for four hours during the investigation.
