HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - A judge set a Sept. 27 evidence hearing for three men accused of abducting a teenager from her Henderson home and holding her for ransom before police rescued her from a Las Vegas apartment.
The Las Vegas Sun reports the Tuesday courtroom appearance by Mariano Sanchez-Sanchez, Alejandro Manuel Sanchez-Sanchez and Cesar Sanchez marked the first time 17-year-old Melissa Duran saw her alleged kidnappers since her release early Sept. 1.
Justice of the Peace David Gibson appointed lawyers to represent the three defendants. No pleas were entered.
Police say Duran was found, bound and blindfolded, less than 24 hours after she was snatched from her home in Henderson's Green Valley area.
Henderson police say a fourth suspect, Jose Sanchez-Perez, awaits extradition to Nevada following his arrest Saturday in Vallejo, Calif.
