LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have identified a man found dead in a northwest Las Vegas backyard shortly after a 72-year-old homeowner reported someone was breaking in.
Clark County coroner's officials say 27-year-old Anthony C. Guerra died of a gunshot wound in the incident reported about 8 a.m. Monday.
Police say the homeowner reported the apparent burglary and fired a gun before police arrived.
Authorities arrived at the scene and arrested one suspect in a vehicle that had crashed into a patrol car. They say another would-be intruder fled on foot.
Officer Bill Cassell said Guerra had a gun with him.
Cassell says the homeowner may not face criminal charges. He wasn't identified by police.
Police say his home was burglarized before within the last several weeks.
