LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have identified a 30-year-old woman who was stabbed to death by another woman in the parking lot of a Las Vegas bar.
Clark County coroner's officials say Misty Elaine Madera of Las Vegas was killed in the incident that happened about 11 p.m. Tuesday outside of Champagne's Cafe on South Maryland Parkway.
Authorities say they arrested 22-year-old Sarah Chavez on suspicion of murder after the incident. She remains in the Clark County Detention Center.
Chavez told police the woman had tripped her boyfriend on his way to the bathroom, and that sparked a fight that escalated into a stabbing.
Police say a patron broke up the fight and held Chavez down in a back parking lot until officers arrived.
Madera was taken to Sunrise Trauma Center and pronounced dead
