LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have identified a 16-year-old boy who died after the car he was driving crashed into a concrete wall off a busy thoroughfare west of downtown Las Vegas.
Clark County coroner's officials say Las Vegas resident Eddie Ruiz died of his injuries after the crash about 10:45 p.m. Saturday. Police say Ruiz's 16-year-old passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Las Vegas police say the teens were in a two-door Honda Civic that collided with a vehicle it was passing on Jones Boulevard north of the U.S. 95 freeway. Investigators say the impact sent the Honda spinning until it hit a chain link fence and wall bordering a home.
Police say they're searching for the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash. That vehicle left the scene.
