LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 32-year-old Las Vegas man is dead after a jack failed in a driveway and a car fell on his chest.
Police say the Vanell Ray Meeks was repairing a 2000 Saturn in a driveway on North Walnut Road when the jack stand slipped about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Authorities say the left front rotor fell on the man's chest.
Police say neighbors tried to help him by lifting the vehicle off of him and calling 911, but Meeks was pronounced dead at University Medical Center.
