LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities in Las Vegas have identified a suspected intruder who was killed following a break-in on Christmas Eve.
Clark County coroner's officials say 35-year-old Los Angeles resident Maurice Robert Howard died after a gunfire exchange about 10 a.m. Monday.
Police say three armed men and a woman forced their way inside an apartment off Rainbow Boulevard near Cheyenne Avenue, and the man and woman inside were beaten.
Authorities say those two grabbed guns and followed the intruders out of the apartment. Police say the residents shot at Howard multiple times, and he died of his injuries at University Medical Center.
Police say the three remaining suspects left the scene in a 2002 Infiniti and are still at large. The vehicle was found shortly after in the apartment parking lot.
