LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Clark County Coroner has identified a 28-day-old baby police say was left in a Las Vegas trash bin after a young mother hid her pregnancy.
Authorities said Monday they're calling the child Baby-Girl Robinson. Officials say the first name originated as a placeholder because it's unclear whether the child was ever given another name.
A maintenance worker found the baby's body in the trash July 18 at the Rancho Mesa Apartments, near the North Las Vegas Airport.
Las Vegas police say they believe a juvenile gave birth to the baby at home and hid the child from family and friends. Authorities have not yet released an official cause of death.
